Distracted Driving in the United States

Posted: October 1, 2018

In 2016, motor vehicle accidents involving distracted driving caused the deaths of 3,450 people. One life lost by this completely preventable behavior would be too many. Although texting and cell phone use are two of the primary types of distraction, they are not the only types. Arguing with your passengers can be dangerously distracting, as can breaking up a fight between children in the back seat. Eating or drinking can be distracting. Applying makeup or adjusting a GPS is distracting.
